The Features of Stainless Steel Pipe

At present, the market supply of pipes mainly consists of galvanized steel pipe, plastic galvanized steel pipe lined with plastic, PVC plastic pipe, PP-R plastic pipe, aluminum-plastic composite pipe, copper pipe, plastic-coated copper pipe, stainless steel lined with plastic pipe, stainless steel outer plastic pipe and so on. 

Galvanized steel pipe: the price is cheap, the mechanical strength is high, but it is easy to rust, the inner wall of the pipe is easy to scale and bacteria, and the service life is short. It is a banned product in water supply field. It makes the pipeline bulky and increased the manufacturing cost. Moreover, it fails to eliminate the defects of corrosion damage and short service life at the connecting thread of the galvanized steel pipe. Therefore, it is a product not suitable for promotion.

PVC and PP-R pipe: they are all plastic pipes, it is characterized by easy manufacture, light weight and low price. But the mechanical strength is low, the destructive resistance is poor, it is easy to age, and slightly toxic( although polypropylene is non-toxic, plasticizers and color masterbatches have certain toxicity). It is difficult to distinguish if the quality of the factory is adulterated and the quality is reduced, so it is only suitable for occasions with low requirements and short-term use.

Aluminum-plastic composite pipe: it has the advantages of easy bending, small number of pipe joints for long-distance transportation, and convenient pipe transportation. However, there was a serious bottleneck at the connection between the pipe and the joint, which caused a great flow loss. In addition, if the connection between the pipe and the joint is more than two times, the pressure resistance and pullout resistance will be significantly reduced after repeated installation. In addition, because the joints are made of brass, the nickel alloy pipe joints are prone to produce patina, and harmful metal substances such as lead may be precipitated on the surface. Therefore, aluminum-plastic composite pipes are generally not used for directly drinking water transportation.

Copper pipe: it has a regular effect of inhibiting the growth of bacteria. The mechanical strength and destructive resistance of rubber products are also good, but they are not acid-resistant, and are easy to oxidize in a humid environment to produce patina, which is also a toxic substance. In addition, due to its high thermal conductivity, if it is used to transport hot water, it must be well insulated. 

Plastic-coated copper pipe: although the defect of excessive heat dissipation of copper pipes is eliminated, it leads to increased production costs. And the defect that the outer plastic layer is easy to age and shorten the service life.

Stainless steel lined with plastic pipe: due to the large difference in the service life of stainless and plastic, it is also a product that should not be promoted.

Thick-walled stainless steel pipe: because it has many advantages such as corrosion resistance, no pollution, excellent mechanical properties, good destructive resistance, low thermal conductivity, durability, luxurious appearance, etc. It is the most ideal pipeline for use. Because of this, all stainless steel piping systems have been adopted in the pharmaceutical, chemical, and beverage packaging industries for a long time. In Japan and Germany, the water pipe network has all stainless steel pipe system. However, the traditional thick-walled stainless steel piping system has not been popularized and applied in the municipal water supply and building water supply fields due to the high consumption of stainless steel materials and the high price.

Thin-walled stainless steel pipe:this is a new generation of water pipes that China is ahead of the world, the system abandons the traditional screw thread connection method and uses homogeneous plug joints to realize the sealed connection of the pipeline, so the pipe wall of the stainless steel pipe can be thinned. The pipeline laying cost is greatly reduced.
